SilverSingles is not shutting down. It is open, taking new members, and since May 2026 it has been run by SuccessfulMatch.com, Inc., the company behind SeniorMatch. If you heard otherwise, there is a reason. The previous operator went through insolvency in the first half of 2026 and closed one of its sister sites at two days’ notice. If you had a SilverSingles account before May 2026, whether it still works is to confirm. If an old login no longer works, the login page for UK members says what to try next.
Is SilverSingles still running?
Yes. We logged in on 16 September 2026 and the site was working normally. It was showing profiles. Its own FAQ page had ten entries when we read it that day, on things like photo verification and voice calls. The Android app was published on 19 May 2026 and the iPhone app is listed as SilverSingles®: 50+ Dating.
The rumours that it was closing have a real origin. In late April 2026, members of EliteSingles, a sister site with the same owner, received an email saying the site would close permanently on 30 April. Global Dating Insights reported it in EliteSingles to Suddenly Shut Down on April 30 on the day it happened. That article named SilverSingles as one of the company’s other brands and said it was unclear what would happen to the rest. So for a few weeks in spring 2026, “is SilverSingles shutting down” was a fair question.
Then the brand reappeared under a new operator. The service agreement on the site today is dated 12 May 2026 and names SuccessfulMatch.com, Inc. as the company providing the service. A new Android app followed a week later. Our page on whether SilverSingles is legit covers what we could check about the company and the complaints people make.
Who owns it now?
The operator is SuccessfulMatch.com, Inc., a Delaware company whose address on the service agreement is in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. It runs a family of dating sites that includes SeniorMatch, and since September 2026 it also runs EliteSingles. Global Dating Insights covered that part of the story in EliteSingles Relaunches Under New Ownership on 1 September 2026. That piece describes the EliteSingles domain as “now operated by SuccessfulMatch” and notes that the relaunched site started with its own member database, so people from the old EliteSingles could not count on carrying their accounts over.
There has been no equivalent article about SilverSingles. Neither the previous operator nor SuccessfulMatch has published an account of how the brand changed hands. We looked and could not find one, so we are not going to guess. What we can show you is what the site itself says.

The same company name appears on the service agreement, the website terms of use, the registration page and the affiliate programme terms.
These are the dates we can back up.
- 16 January 2026. A court in Berlin puts the German company that ran SilverSingles and its sister sites day to day into the first stage of insolvency. Global Dating Insights reported the filing on 21 January. The company later asks a US bankruptcy court to recognise the case and says it is trying to sell assets while keeping the sites running.
- 28 to 30 April 2026. EliteSingles members are told by email that the site will close in two days. It closes on 30 April.
- 12 May 2026. The SilverSingles service agreement and privacy policy are reissued in the name of SuccessfulMatch.com, Inc.
- 19 May 2026. A new SilverSingles app is published on Google Play. The old apps are no longer listed in the stores.
- 1 September 2026. EliteSingles relaunches under SuccessfulMatch, with a fresh member database.
What happened to old accounts?
Whether accounts from before May 2026 still work is to confirm. Global Dating Insights reported that EliteSingles, relaunched by the same operator, started with its own member database. We have not been able to test an old SilverSingles login ourselves. If you paid for a subscription before May 2026, you paid the previous operator, not the current one. We have found nothing in the new service agreement about those subscriptions, and no public statement from either company about refunds for those members.
If your old login is refused, write it off and decide afresh whether the new service is worth your time. There is no fee to register and look. If you do register again, you start from an empty profile, with new photos to add and no matches until people find you. The steps are on our how it works page.
What’s new on the site?
If you remember the old SilverSingles, the new one will feel different. The old version was built around a long personality test and a small daily set of matches. The new version comes from the company that runs SeniorMatch, and it gives you more ways to find people and more to do while you wait.
Browsing now has two views under Discover. Flame shows you one profile at a time and you swipe. Gallery shows you many at once.
There are chat groups you can join and post in. When we looked on 16 September 2026 there were 22, with names such as Sunshine Café, Tea House, Melody House, Lakeside Garden and Library. They are marked as free to join, so you do not need Silver Select to take part. There is also Moments, a feed where members’ photos and videos appear under three tabs, Moments, Videos and Blend, a little like a social network inside the site.
Silver Select members can post a meet-up for two, coffee or a meal, and other members ask to be the one who goes along. Free members can see the listings but cannot post one. When we looked on 15 September 2026, the list showed ten hosts: eight in the United States, one in Germany and one in England whose meet-up had already ended. The five still open to join were all in the United States or Germany, so this is less useful here for now.
You can verify your profile photo (3 to 8 seconds), your mobile number (about 5 seconds) and your email. The site says verification is free for now. Verification is not a background check. The site’s own footer says it does not conduct background checks on members. What to check for yourself before you meet anyone is on staying safe.
Silver Select members can also make voice and video calls through the site, with their phone numbers hidden.
The paid membership is called Silver Select, and it comes with 33 listed privileges. The one that matters most is sending private messages, which free members cannot do. Our free versus Silver Select page lists the rest, and cancel auto-renewal has the two rules to know before you pay.
Two things to watch for, because they trip people up:
- Auto-renewal is switched on by default when you subscribe. You turn it off under Me, then Settings, Payment, Payment Details, Renewal Status.
- Refunds are only available within three working days of subscribing. After that, the money is gone, so read the plan length carefully before you pay.
What about the UK site?
The old UK address, silversingles.co.uk, no longer works. We tried it on 15 September 2026 and nothing loaded. There is now one site, silversingles.com, in English.
We cannot say what a UK account sees first, because the account we used to check the site has its profile country set to the United States. What you see does depend on one switch. You can narrow what you see to UK members by going to Me, then Settings, Privacy & Visibility, and switching Global Visibility off. Our page on seeing only UK members walks through it with the screens.
The email address is support@silversingles.com, and the member site says it is read around the clock. The phone line is a Canadian number, 1-416-628-1072, open 9am to 5pm Eastern Time, which is 2pm to 10pm in the UK. There is no UK number.
Should I join now?
The service is live, registering and looking around costs nothing, and the groups and Moments make it more sociable than the old version was. Verification is free for now too.
Against that, we do not know how many UK members there are. With Global Visibility on you may see members from other countries alongside British ones. We do not print prices on this site. The website’s plan screen, which a new free account reached on 17 September 2026, was priced in US dollars, and the iPhone app has its own price list, so check the figure on your screen and which of the two you are buying through before you pay. Whether a UK member is ever charged in pounds is to confirm. And the company running the site is new to it, so the settings and menus described here may move.
Our suggestion is to register for free, then switch Global Visibility off and set your profile Country and the Living in filter to United Kingdom. Spend a week looking before you pay for anything. If the people you see are the kind of people you would like to meet, upgrade then. If not, you have lost a little time and nothing else.
