Free dating profile writer for over 50s

Type a few words about yourself and who you'd like to meet. In about ten seconds you get the three texts SilverSingles asks for: a headline, an About Me and an About My Match, written in British English from your own words. It's free, there's nothing to sign up for, and we don't keep what you type.

Facts checked against the SilverSingles member site, 17 September 2026.

A few words will do, separated by commas if you like.

Age, the kind of person, and what you're hoping for.

What you type is sent to Cloudflare's AI to write the draft. We don't keep it. Privacy

How it works

  1. Type a few words in each box. Say who you are now, what fills your week and who you'd like to meet. A list with commas is fine.
  2. Press Write my profile. In about ten seconds you get three headlines to choose from, an About Me and an About My Match. The writer may then ask up to three quick questions, such as what you most like to bake. Answer any you like and it works your answers in.
  3. Change the tone, then copy. A single tap makes it warmer or shorter, or gives it a new opening. You can also type what you'd like changed. When it sounds like you, copy each text into SilverSingles.

It works like a dating profile generator, with one difference: it writes from your own words instead of filling in a template, so the result sounds like you.

Three examples

Example 1

About you: woman 63, retired teacher, Norwich, widowed, choir, grandchildren, baking, the coast
Who you'd like to meet: kind man 60 to 70, walks, company, maybe more

Profile Headline: Retired teacher, still fond of a good question

About Me: I sing in a choir, and there's nothing quite like the moment a tricky passage finally clicks and everyone lands together. I'm 63, a retired teacher living in Norwich, so I've heard every excuse in the book and I still enjoy a good story. I'm widowed, and my grandchildren keep me on my toes. I love baking, though the evidence rarely lasts long, and nothing beats a walk along the coast with the wind doing its worst. If you fancy company on a stroll, or you'd like to hear what the choir's been learning, I'd be glad of it.

About My Match: I'd like to meet a kind man between 60 and 70 who enjoys walks and good company, and maybe more. Tell me your favourite stretch of coast and I'll tell you mine.

Then it asked: Soprano, alto, tenor or bass, where do you sit? What do the grandchildren love baking with you most? What's your favourite thing to bake?

Example 2

About you: man 58 divorced, electrician still working, Leeds, spaniel, fishing, curry
Who you'd like to meet: woman 50s, someone to go out with, see where it goes

Profile Headline: Electrician with a spaniel and a rod

About Me: Nothing beats the quiet of a fishing spot, though my spaniel has other ideas about sitting still. I'm 58, divorced, and I still work as an electrician in Leeds, so I'm the sort of person people call when something stops working. A good curry is my favourite way to finish a day, and I'm always up for finding somewhere new to try. If you fancy a night out sometime, I know I can find us a table worth talking about.

About My Match: I'd like to meet a woman in her 50s who fancies going out together and seeing where it goes. Tell me your favourite curry and I'll tell you mine, or come along and let's find out.

Then it asked: Curry house favourite: korma or something hotter? What's your best catch so far? What's your spaniel's name?

Example 3

About you: man 75, retired vicar, Exeter, organ music, crosswords
Who you'd like to meet: lady 65 to 78 for friendship and maybe more

Profile Headline: Retired vicar with a crossword habit

About Me: A tricky crossword clue can keep me happily occupied all afternoon, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm 75, a retired vicar living in Exeter, and I still love organ music: the way a big chord fills a building and you feel it in your chest. Retirement has left me time for the things I enjoy, but the best things in life are shared. I'd like someone to sit with over the cryptic clues, or to argue cheerfully with about whether the setter was being fair.

About My Match: I'd like to meet a lady between 65 and 78 who'd enjoy friendship first, and maybe more if it grows. Tell me your favourite crossword puzzle, and I'll tell you mine.

Then it asked: Cryptic or quick crossword? What's the best clue you've ever solved? Do you have a favourite piece of organ music?

What makes a profile work after 50

Say who you are now, give real details from your week, and say plainly what you hope for. Specific beats general: "Most Sundays I walk the coast path" gives a stranger something to ask about, and "I enjoy walking" does not. Leave out your surname, address, workplace and anything about money. The full method, with five example profiles, is on how to write a dating profile over 50.

Questions people ask

Is it free?
Yes. There is no charge and nothing to sign up for.
Do I need to sign up?
No. You don't need an account here or on SilverSingles to use it. You only need SilverSingles when you want to paste the profile in.
What happens to what I type?
It is sent to Cloudflare's AI service, which writes the draft and sends it back to your screen. We don't store it or see it, and nothing is saved in a cookie. Close the page and it's gone. Leave out your surname, address and anything about money, as you would on the profile itself. The details are in our privacy policy.
Will it make things up?
It shouldn't. It's told to take the facts only from what you typed: your interests, your town, your family and your work. Around them it adds a little feeling and colour, so the profile sounds like you talking rather than a list. AI can still slip, so read each line before you paste it and change anything that isn't true.
Can I use it on other dating sites?
Yes. Most dating sites ask for something similar. The three texts are shaped for SilverSingles, which asks for a headline, an About Me and an About My Match.
Where do the three texts go on SilverSingles?
About Me and About My Match are the two boxes on screen 4 of the sign-up, each taking up to 4,000 characters. The headline has its own box, Profile Headline, in Edit My Profile once you're in. Photos come on screen 5.
